Mary Nutter Scholarship

NFCA Convention Scholarship

The educational grant, named for the former Pittsburg State (Kan.) head coach and 1997 NFCA Hall of Fame inductee who founded National Sports Clinics, seeks to continue Nutter’s effort to provide softball coaches at all levels access to the best minds in the sport to help them become better coaches themselves. Recipients receive funding to attend the NFCA National Convention.

“I just wanted to say thank you again for being selected as a recipient of the Mary Nutter Scholarship this year at convention! It was a dream come true being able to attend. I was able to listen and learn from all the speakers. The mentoring sessions were phenomenal. Being able to sit at the feet of some of my softball heroes was something that I will never forget. The evening fireside chats were incredible. We sat in the room and talked about pitching for hours and it felt like I was talking to friends that I've had for years. I was able to create contacts and network with coaches that I know will be mentors for years to come. I was able to reserve a spot at the pitching summit in Florida in August and that wouldn't have been possible without the contacts I made because of the NFCA. My athletic director was overwhelmed by my stories and can't wait to support my staff and I attending the convention next year in Vegas!!” –Roni Miller, York College of Nebraska
