Dave Hines
Director of Publications
Dave Hines joined the NFCA in November 2013 as the Director of Publications. Hines oversees the production and editing of NFCA publications and signage, serves as the liaison for NCAA Division III and Publications Committee and handles the day-to-day social media.
Hines designs and distributes the NFCA’s monthly Fastpitch Delivery newspaper, which under his watch moved to a 100 percent digital platform in 2019. Each year, he creates the NFCA National Convention brochure and program, NFCA Calendar and is the lead editor on other NFCA publications, as well as constructing signage and credentials for all NFCA Events.
Additionally, Hines is the friendly face behind day-to-day social media interactions. Under his efforts, followers on social media have grown exponentially during his time with the Association, surpassing 40,000 followers on Twitter.
Working closely with Division III coaches, Hines coordinates the NFCA Division III Coaches Polls and weekly player of the week awards. He oversees the NFCA’s Division III All-America process, as well as all other major NFCA Division III awards. Additionally, he constructs and distributes the NFCA’s High School Fall and Spring polls.
Prior to his time with the NFCA, Hines spent 12 years at the Daily Freeman in his hometown of Kingston, N.Y. During his tenure, he served as the paper’s assistant sports editor, portrait and action photographer, sport reporter, videographer and lead editor on the city desk. He also served as his alma mater’s (SUNY New Paltz) first full-time sports information director for eight years as well as one season as an assistant softball coach.
Hines resides in Louisville with his dog Mia.
