LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) and the California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association (3CFCA) have officially extended their joint membership agreement for another five years, reinforcing a shared commitment to growing the game and elevating two-year college softball.
“I would like to thank the 3CFCA for making a huge commitment to their softball coaches by supporting a five-year membership renewal agreement with our Association,” said NFCA CEO Carol Bruggeman. “Everyone wins with this initiative! Cal JC coaches have access to NFCA awards, education, mentoring programs, and more, and the 3CFCA will continue to help grow the sport of softball. Special thanks to NFCA Cal JC Board of Directors Representative Marian 'Speedy' Mendoza and invested Cal JC NFCA member Michelle Daddona for their efforts in renewing our joint membership agreement."
Spearheaded in 2021 by Daddona, head coach at Riverside City College, and retired Sierra College head coach Darci Brownell, the initiative came to institutions that pay their 3CFCA membership dues with a Cal JC head coach NFCA membership.
“The continued partnership with NFCA provides 3CFCA coaches access to educational resources, professional development opportunities, networking, advocacy and the broader fastpitch coaching community,” said Daddona. “The renewed agreement reflects a shared commitment to supporting California Community College fastpitch coaches, strengthening the coaching profession, and enhancing the student-athlete experience.”
The continued efforts put forth by Mendoza, co-head coach at Fullerton College and the Cal JC representative on the NFCA Board of Directors, and Daddona are pivotal in the growth of the initiative, which advances key Association goals by growing Cal JC membership and expanding outreach to two-year college coaches. More importantly, it grants Cal JC coaches and student-athletes direct access to NFCA educational resources, awards, events, networking, and Convention scholarships. Through this financial investment in its coaches, the Cal JC enables the NFCA to better support their pursuit of excellence.
“We are so excited to renew our joint membership between the 3C2A and the NFCA for the next five years,” said Mendoza. “The NFCA Community is amazing and brings so many opportunities for our Cal JC Coaches. I feel like we hit the lottery. This should be a lifetime membership for anyone that coaches softball.”
Celebrating 40 years in 2023, the NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association) is the professional organization for fastpitch softball coaches.
