Sophomore pitcher Kelly Tomasek has been named the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III National Player of the Week for the week ending March 8, the association announced Wednesday.

Tomasek led 9-1 Adrian to a hot start at the Rebel Spring Games in Orlando, going 5-0 including three complete game shutouts.

The Linden, Mich., native began the week with a three-inning performance over Rochester Institute of Technology in which she gave up no hits and received credit for the 5-1 win. That same day, Tomasek went six innings in a 5-1 victory over then No. 11 Muskingum.

Three wins over the next three days included a complete game two-hit shutout over then No. 25-ranked York (PA). Tomasek would go on to pitch one more victory in the week, another complete game shutout over Maryville.

On the week, Tomasek threw 36 innings, giving up just three runs on 16 hits and four walks and finishing with a 1.00 ERA and 37 strikeouts.
