LOUISVILLE, KY. – The Cougars of Alexander Central (Taylorsville, N.C.) pick up four more wins and remain No. 1 in the USA Today/NFCA High School Top 25.
In the regular season finale, the Pacifica Mariners (Garden Grove, Calif.), defeated previously unbeaten Mission Viejo (Calif.) 2-1 in nine innings dropping the Diablos from the No. 2 to the No. 4 spot on this week’s poll. With the win, the Mariners re-enter the poll at No. 21.
Finishing the season with a 63-4-2 record, the Sparkman Senators (Harvest, Ala.) captured their third consecutive Class 6A title.
The USA Today/NFCA High School Top 25 Poll will be released every Thursday through June 5.
