Arizona StateSTARKVILLE, Miss. – For the second consecutive week and third time this season, Arizona State topped the latest edition of the USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 poll, which was released by the Association on Tuesday.

After sweeping Oregon State last week, the Sun Devils (45-5) garnered 29 of 30 firs-place votes to finish 39 points ahead of No. 2 Michigan (44-4).  In the rest of the top five, Texas stayed at third, despite splitting a pair of Red River Rivalry games with 15th-ranked Oklahoma (35-16). 

Meanwhile, Florida (43-8) and Tennessee (44-7) moved up one spot each to fourth and fifth, respectively. The two teams filled the void left by Georgia, who dropped three spots to seventh after losing two out of three to then 25th-ranked Auburn (36-15). 

For the second straight week, no team exited on entered the Top 25 rankings. In fact with 23 of 30 voters selecting every team in last week’s poll for their respective ballots the week, there was a 68-point gap between No. 25 Notre Dame (38-8) and the first team out, Indiana (34-15), the largest of the season so far.

The USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 Poll is voted on by 30 NCAA Division I head coaches, one representing each conference.
