LOUISVILLE, Ky. – With arguably one of the most dominant pitching performances in NCAA Division III history after tossing back-to-back perfect games against Sul Ross State and Edgewood College during the week of March 11-17, 2013, Tabitha Murray of Baldwin Wallace University has been named the NFCA/Louisville Slugger Division III Player of the Week
Murray’s performances came en route to a 6-3 record in the circle on the week, with a 1.28 ERA, 53 strikeouts and nine earned runs over 49.1 innings pitched.
Murray appeared in the circle during nine of Baldwin Wallace’s 10 games, batting in 10-of-10. At the plate she also contributed a .483 average with 14 hits, five runs, eight RBIs, five doubles, eight walks and one stolen base.
Up next for Murray and the Yellow Jackets is a home double header against Otterbein followed by two games at both Geneva (Pa.) and Muskingum.

The NFCA Division III Player of the Week is voted on by a panel of eight NCAA Division III coaches from the eight NCAA regions. Player of the Week selection reflects performances from the previous Monday through Sunday of softball action.
Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III Player of the Week nominations are due no later than 4 p.m. ET each Monday and should reflect only the previous week’s performances. Nominations can be submitted by NFCA member coaches by logging into the NFCA website at www.nfca.org.
