Colorado-Colorado Springs outfielder Charlene Berg has been selected the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II National Player of the Week for the week of March 1-7.
Berg, a junior from Widefield, Colo., went 11-for-13 (.846) with six RBIs in the Mountain Lions' four game sweep of Adams State over the weekend.
In the first game, she went 4-for-4 at the plate, scoring two runs and delivering an RBI. She went 2-for-3 in UCCS' 3-2 win in the nightcap of the doubleheader.
In Sunday's first game, Berg went 2-for-3 with two runs and five RBIs in UCCS' 11-3 win. Berg also belted her first home run of the season. She again was perfect at the plate in the second game, going 3-for-3 in a 4-3 win.
On the season, Berg leads the Mountain Lions, hitting a .484 clip. She has four doubles and is a perfect 3-for-3 in stolen base attempts.
