TUCSON, Ariz. – Day two of the 2015 NFCA Division II Leadoff Classic is in the books and bracket play is in full swing. No. 1 West Texas A&M, No. 3 Dixie State, No. 16 and Central Oklahoma advanced to the gold bracket semifinals, while we have an all-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) semifinal in the Silver Bracket. The three-day tournament is being contested at Lincoln Park and hosted by Tucson Invitational Games.

On the silver side, defending RMAC champion Metro State (2-2) edged Texas Woman’s (1-3) 4-3 and will take on Regis (2-2) at 8:00 a.m., which rallied once in the seventh and again in the eighth to edge Molloy (0-4), 4-3. Fort Lewis (1-3) knocked off Western Oregon (1-3) 10-7 in eight innings for its first win of the young season and faces off against Colorado-Pueblo (2-2) at 10:00 a.m., a 6-0 winner over East Central University (1-3).

All four Gold Bracket games were not as close. Third-seeded WT (3-0) run-ruled Colorado Mesa (2-2), 8-0 in six innings and their semifinal opponent second-seed St. Mary’s (4-0) used a five-run fourth to break a 3-3 tie and cruise to 9-3 win over SEO (2-2). Top-seeded Dixie State (4-0) continued its offensive showcase (39 runs) used a six-run third to break a 3-3 deadlock and pull away from Midwestern State (2-2), 10-3. The Red Devils’ opponent are the Bronchos (3-1) of Central Oklahoma, which upset No. 13 Missouri St. Louis (3-1), 9-4. Both semifinals will be contest at 10:00 a.m.

The morning portion of the tournament concluded after three sets of three games. Dixie State, St. Mary’s, West Texas A&M, UMSL all won their final contest to remain undefeated and earn the top four seeds. Central Oklahoma and Colorado Mesa rounded out the pool winners despite dropping their final morning games. The Savage Storm and Mustangs rounded out the Gold Bracket.

Play concludes tomorrow with games starting at 8:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
