COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Off to a 39-3 this year, Chattanooga State has topped the first NJCAA Division I poll of the 2012 regular season, the governing body announced on Tuesday.

Previous No. 1 Yavapai (31-4) dropped to second, while Tallahassee (23-5) held tight at third. Salt Lake (25-6) dropped two spots from second to fourth, while Midland (24-4) went from being unranked in the preseason rankings to fifth this week.
