Chipola College head coach Belinda Hendrix and assistant coach Jimmy Hendrix have been named the NFCA’s NJCAA Division I Coaching Staff of the Year, the association announced Monday.
The Chipola staff will be honored at the 2007 NFCA National Convention which will take place Nov. 28-Dec. 1 at the Las Vegas Hilton.
The Lady Indians capped a 57-6-1 2007 campaign by hoisting the 2007 NJCAA Division I national championship in Hendrix’s third season at the school.
Chipola also captured the Panhandle Conference title and finished the year ranked tops in the NJCAA Division I poll after winning 14 of its last 15 games.
The Chipola staff also received South region accolades. Other regional winners included:

Assistant Coach: Sena Horne
In her third season as head coach of the Bulldogs, Messina guided her team to a top 10 finish at the NJCAA Division I National Tournament. Texarkana finished the season with a 44-16 mark that landed it 13th in the final NJCAA poll.

Head Coach: Don Don Williams
Assistant Coaches: Casi Reisenauer, Ron Bradstreet and Tammy Bradstreet
Williams and her staff guided NIC to a second-place finish at the NJCAA National Tournament. The team clinched the second-best national finish in school history and finished 46-26 after winning seven straight games following an opening-round loss in the national tournament.
