LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Ashtyn Coleman of Wellesley and Christopher Newport’s Makayla Jenkins have been selected as the Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III National Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively.

Coleman, a freshman catcher for the (24-9) Blue, which received eight votes in this week’s NFCA Division III Top 25 Poll, batted .700 (14-of-20) with three doubles, two triples, three homers, seven walks and 11 runs batted in during a 7-0 week for her school. The Scottsdale, Ariz., native hit safely in all seven games and struck out just once in 26 plate appearances while compiling a 1.500 slugging percentage and .786 on-base average.

Jenkins, a freshman left-hander for the (35-6) Captains, who moved up six spots to a tie with East Texas Baptist for seventh in the latest Top 25 Poll, beat the nation’s top-ranked and best-hitting team twice in two days en route to the Capital Athletic Conference tournament title. She three-hit Salisbury in a 1-0 victory, then won 3-2 in eight innings in the championship game.

Gloucester, Va., native Jenkins has dealt the (33-3) Sea Gulls all three of their losses this season, having also defeated them 2-0 on March 22.

Neumann junior pitcher Kristin Beaty won her one game during the week, collecting five strikeouts over four innings in a combined shutout of Cedar Crest. … Tufts junior pitcher Allyson Fournier went 2-0 in three games with a 0.44 ERA, two shutouts, two hits, one run, two walks and 29 strikeouts over 16 innings. She pitched a perfect game (15 strikeouts) against Bridgewater State and allowed two hits and fanned a combined 14 over nine innings in a pair of appearances against conference foe Bates, one of which was an 11-strikeout, two-hitter. … Trine junior pitcher Bree Fuller allowed nine hits and one earned run while collecting 37 strikeouts over 19 innings. She threw the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association’s first no-hitter of the season, fanning 14 (two walks) in a 6-0 triumph over Calvin and tied a school record with 16 strikeouts in a three-hitter against Hope. … Washington (Mo.) University senior outfielder Maggie Ingell hit .529 (11-of-19) with two doubles, two homers, seven RBI, 10 runs scored, two walks and four steals in four attempts. She went a combined 6-for-6 with a homer, four runs and five RBI in a doubleheader sweep of Millikin and had three hits and scored three runs in a win over Greenville. … Plymouth State senior shortstop Bekah Jackson was 9-for-17 (.529) with two doubles, three homers and 10 RBI. She hit safely in all five games and had multiple hits in three of the five. Jackson was 5-for-9 with three runs, a double, two homers and seven RBI in a doubleheader sweep of UMass-Boston. … Mary Hardin-Baylor junior first baseman Dayton Kunz batted .500 (5-of-10) with a double, two homers and eight RBI in a three-game sweep of Sul Ross. She had two hits in two of the games and was 1-for-3 in the other. … Oneonta State sophomore third baseman Traci Lichtenstein was 8-for-17 (.471) with two doubles, three homers and 14 RBI. Seven of the RBI and two of the homers (one a grand slam) came among three hits in the first game of a twinbill sweep of Plattsburgh. … Trine sophomore third baseman Kendra Marshall hit .636 (14-of-22) with 13 RBI and at least two hits in all six games of a 6-0 week for the Thunder, which tied a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association record with their 44th straight conference win. She went 6-for-8 with two doubles and six RBI in a sweep of Hope in a first-place conference showdown. … Smith sophomore pitcher Gina Martucci shook off a loss to then-No. 25 Wheaton (Mass.) with a pair of complete-game shutouts, all within 24 hours. She got out of a bases-loaded jam and retired the last 11 hitters in the second game against Wheaton, then carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning in a 2-0 victory over Coast Guard, going 3-for-3 at the plate with the game-winning RBI. … Central junior first baseman Kaitlyn Matzen was 5-for-7 (.714) with two doubles and two RBI in a split with Simpson. She went 3-for-4 in one game and 2-for-3 in the other. … Gwynedd Mercy sophomore first baseman Kelsey McDonough batted .615 (8-of-13) with a double, three homers, seven RBI, two walks, two times hit by pitch and four runs to compile a 1.385 slugging percentage and .706 on-base average. … Eastern Connecticut State junior pitcher Erin Miller was 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA, five hits, one walk and seven strikeouts over 15 innings. She tossed a complete-game shutout of UMass-Dartmouth and had a two-hitter against Rhode Island College. … East Texas Baptist senior pitcher Shelby Parker was 2-0 for the week, with two shutouts, seven hits and two walks allowed, plus 13 strikeouts over 12 innings in a pair of wins over Louisiana College. She pitched a four-hitter (six strikeouts) and three-hitter (seven strikeouts) and has now gone 27 innings without allowing a run with five shutouts in her last five appearances. … Mary Hardin-Baylor senior pitcher Rebekah Ragsdale was 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA, two shutouts, nine hits, two walks and 12 strikeouts for the week. She recorded five strikeouts in a six-hitter and seven strikeouts in a three-hitter in a pair of games against Sul Ross and reached school records for career wins (45) and strikeouts (294). … East Texas Baptist senior right fielder Alyssa Romero was 4-for-9 (.444) with a double, homer and six RBI in a three-game sweep of Louisiana College. She had at least one hit in every game and contributed a grand slam to the third game of the series, amassing a .889 slugging percentage and .500 on-base average. … Coe sophomore pitcher Arran Weeces was 2-0 for the week with a 0.64 ERA, one shutout, four hits, one run, two walks and 21 strikeouts over 14 innings. She tossed a perfect game (14 strikeouts) against Buena Vista and fanned seven batters in a four-hitter against Westminster (Mo.).
