STARKVILLE, Miss. – Sophomore outfielder Meaghan Kohler of Cortland State has been named the Louisville Slugger Division III National Player of the Week for games played April 2-8.

The Franklin, N.J., native led the Red Dragons to a 6-0 week, including doubleheader road sweeps of Ithaca, Fredonia and Buffalo State. Kohler batted .391 (9-for-23) with four home runs, a double, 17 runs batted in and seven runs scored.

In a doubleheader sweep at Buffalo State on Saturday, Kohler hit a grand slam and drove in five runs in each game. She finished the twinbill a combined 5-for-9 with two homers, a double and 10 RBI. She also hit two home runs, including a two-run shot in the fourth to give Cortland a 2-1 lead, in a 6-1 win Friday at Fredonia.

Kohler leads Cortland this spring with eight homers and 42 RBIs in 26 games. The Red Dragons are 22-4 and ranked 14th nationally in the latest Division III Top 25 poll. She was also named the Eastern College Athletic Conference Upstate New York and State University of New York Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week.
