STARKVILLE, Miss. - Despite a loss this week, Linfield received all eight first votes to remain No. 1 in the NFCA Top 25 Poll, the association has announced. Willamette handed the Wildcats just their third loss of the season in a Northwest Conference split, and Linfield is now 34-3 overall. The Wildcats head into next weekend's NWC tournament as the No. 1 seed but will have to battle the two teams that have handed it losses this season, including No. 5 Pacific Lutheran.
The rest of the top five remains the same as a week ago, including No. 2 Emory, who has been idle for two weeks and has six regular season games remaining. No. 3 Eastern Connecticut used eight wins this week to move to 25-1, while Luther used four to go to 28-4. Pacific Lutheran is 33-10 heading into postseason play.
