In what proved to be a pitcher's duel, game No. 2 was a stark, dramatic
contrast to game No. 1. The game went scoreless through the top of the fifth
inning with more than 10 strikeouts. Salisbury took a 1-0 lead in the bottom
of the fifth after Kim Rementer doubled and then stole second, followed by a
single-turned-double by Lisa Gentilella that she got when the throw to first
was high; Rementer scored from second. Neither team scored through the
seventh as the defense for both teams remained solid. Cortland ended the game
on a sour note as Rudy Loiacono struck out swinging. Salisbury's next game is
Saturday at 4 p.m. against Central. Cortland State advances to the
elimination bracket and will play again at 11 a.m. Saturday against Western
New England.

CORTLAND HEAD COACH JULIE LENHART ON HOW HER TEAM PLAYED: "We pretty much
thought it would be a one-run game. I'm not totally disappointed. We wanted
to win, Lacey (Lister) had agreat game. We certainly didn't play our A game."

CORTLAND PITCHER STEPHANIE ADAMSHICK ON HER THIRD-INNING" collision that left
her dizzy: "We were all confused about whose ball it was. We hit heads, but
it didn't affect my pitching."

ON PLAYING AGAINST SALISBURY: "Coming into it I was a little nervous, but then I settled down and focused on my pitching."

LENHART ON THE NEXT GAME: "We don't think back, we think forward."

SALISBURY HEAD COACH MARGIE KNIGHT ON THE GAME: "I was hoping that we would
hit the ball hard. Cortland made some good plays. We wanted to make good
contact, and we were able to get some big outs."

SALISBURY PITCHER LACEY LISTER ON PITCHING TO CORTLAND: "They made me
nervous. They have some big hitters. They're definitely a worthy team."
