STARKVILLE, Miss. – Emporia State senior Miranda Campbell and Quincy senior Torie Bunzell have been named Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II National Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for games played between March 29 and April 4, 2010. 

Campbell went 11-for-19 over eight games for the Hornets last week, recording eight runs, 11 RBIs, two home runs, 11 walks and two stolen bases in the process. She posted a .579 batting average on the week, a 0.895 slugging percentage and .710 on-base percentage to along with four multi-hit and three multi-RBI games. 

The Bogota, Texas native helped lead her team to an 8-0 record on the week, pushing the Hornets' current win-streak to 16. No. 7 Emporia State is currently 28-7 overall and remains unbeaten at 6-0 in Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association play. 

Bunzell went the distance in each of her three appearances on the week, earning a victory in each one. She ended the week with a 0.00 ERA and allowed just seven hits, one unearned run, and four walks while striking out 42 batters. 

The native of Utica, Ill struck out 10 or more batters in each of her three games last week including 19 versus Illinois-Springfield. She limited opponents to just a .102 batting average and picked up two shutouts in three complete games. 

Quincy will head into the weekend with a 20-7 overall record and a 6-0 mark in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

Kacie Edwards of Central Oklahoma led her team to a four game sweep of Southwestern Oklahoma State by going 8-for-12 with five doubles and one home run… Drury’s Amber Hayden had three multi-RBI games as her team went 3-1… Katie Petersen of Midwestern State went 3-0 on the week with a save and a perfect game … Lock Haven’s Becca Bailey went 4-0 while fanning 30 batters…
