Armstrong Atlantic pitcher Katya Eronina has been named the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II National Player of the Week for the week of April 5-11.
Eronina went 3-0 with a flawless 0.00 ERA on the week for the seventh-ranked Pirates. She gave up just five hits in 19 innings and struck out 22 batters. She tossed four no-hit innings in game one of a doubleheader against USC Aiken, then came back with a complete game shutout in the nightcap.
She limited USC Spartanburg to just one hit in eight innings in a 4-0 win over the Rifles. The win was her 29th consecutive, the fifth longest win streak in NCAA Division II history. The win was also her 12th Peach Belt Conference victory, breaking Lisa Macki's record of 11 set in 2001.
On the season, Eronina is 28-0 with a 0.25 ERA. She had 15 shutouts and has struckout 278 batters. She ranks first in Division II in strikeouts, second in wins and third in ERA ast the Pirates enter the Peach Belt Conference tournament this weekend.
