Emporia State senior pitcher Courtney Reed has been named the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II Player of the Week for the week ending Mar. 11, the association announced Wednesday afternoon.

Reed helped the Hornets, last season’s national runner-up, to the St. Edwards Tournament title as she posted a 3-0 record that included no-hitters of New Mexico Highlands and then-No. 10 St. Mary’s.

For the week, the Bonner Springs, Kan., native posted a 0.41 ERA, giving up a run on three hits with 25 strikeouts and two walks in 17 innings of work.

On the season Reed has compiled an 8-3 mark and 2.18 ERA as she has allowed 23 runs, 19 earned, on 34 hits with 88 strikeouts in 61 innings.
