LOUISVILLE, KY. – Off to perfect 10-0 start to the season, the Cougars of Alexander Central (Taylorsville, N.C.) are the first team to sit atop the 2014 USA Today/NFCA High School Top 25 Poll.

 

California schools, Mission Viejo (12-0) and Amador Valley (5-0), come in at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively, followed by Florida’s St. Thomas Aquinas (17-0) and California’s Archbishop Mitty (7-0).

Eleven states are represented in the opening ranking of the 2014 campaign with California and Texas each leading the pack with six selections.

The USA Today/NFCA High School Top 25 Poll will be released every Thursday through June 5.

The USA Today/NFCA High School Top 25 Poll is compiled by state representatives from across the country.  Records for this week’s poll include all games played through March 25, 2014.
