LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Northern (Md.) remains at No. 1 for the fifth week in a row in the latest USA Today/NFCA High School Top 25 poll released by the Association on Thursday. The Patriots maintained their unblemished record by tacking on three wins this past week and improving to 18-0 on the season. 


The top nine remain the same in the ranks this week with John Curtis (La.) at No. 2. Curtis finished their season with an impressive 32-1 record and the Louisiana 2A state title. Logan (Calif.) was 2-0 last week to improve to 19-1 on the season. Mission Viejo (Calif.) held steady at No. 3 by extending their win streak to 21 games. Rounding out the top five is Bishop O’Connell (Va.), who continues play this week in defense of their 24-1 record.

Entering this week’s rankings are North Canton (Ohio), Vintage (Calif.), Las Cruces (N. Mex.) and Boiling Springs (S.C.).

The USA Today/NFCA High School Top 25 poll is compiled by state representatives from across the country.  Records for this week’s poll include all games played through May 7, 2013.
