2007 Louisville Slugger/NFCA NJCAA Division II All-Region Teams
Lansing Community College led all schools with five all-region selections as the National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced the 2007 Louisville Slugger/NFCA NJCAA Division II All-Region teamsWednesday afternoon.
Lansing garnered five selections in the East region, with pitcher Tammi Filkins joining second baseman Megann Lohman, shortstop Heather Brusokas and outfielders Cirina Jones and Danielle Dean.
The South region had Phoenix College, Cowley County Community College and Johnson County Community College each earn four selections to the team.
Phoenix put pitcher Patricia Moreno on the squad along with first baseman Natalie Heeley, shortstop Kailey Yarmer and outfielder Jamie Hennis.
Johnson County had battery-mates Emily Dye and Aubree Brattin receive the honor in addition to third baseman Tiffany Carter and first baseman Krista Cummings.
Cowley pitcher Heather Davis led her team, which also earned half of the outfield slots with the selection of Colby Hart and Nicole Reuter. Danielle Saylor-Perkins claimed the designated player/utility spot.
Four teams paced the Midwest region selections, with Iowa Lakes, Muscatine, Kankakee and Parkland each claiming a trio of all-region honorees.
Iowa Lakes placed pitcher Aly Bowers on the squad along with first baseman Kimberly White and outfielder Ashley Souphimdara.
Muscatine also had its first baseman, Sarah Saladino, named to the all-region squad. She joined outfielder Mallory Manning and designated player/utility selection Katelyn Watkinson in earning the accolade.
Kankakee second baseman Lindsay Longfellow garnered all-region accolades, joining battery-mates Ashley Havertine and Megan Flatt who were named to the pitcher and catcher slots, respectively.
The left side of the Parkland infield earned all-region honors, as shortstop Lindsay Watkins and third baseman Lacey Poulson were named to the team along with outfielder Holly Nichols.
