Larry Cain is stepping down as NFCA Director of Media Relations effective January 18, it was announced Tuesday. Cain has accepted a position in private business.

"All of us at the NFCA are going to miss Larry," said NFCA Executive Director Lacy Lee Baker. "He has done a tremendous job here and we have all enjoyed working with him. We wish him all the best in his new position."

Cain was named the NFCA's first Director of Media Relations in September, 1998. His duties with the NFCA have included administering the USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25, the NFCA Division III Top 25 and the USA Today/NFCA High School Top 25 national polls, as well as publishing the NFCA Director of Information. Cain has also served as the staff liaison to the NFCA Division III membership.

Prior to working for the NFCA, Cain spent 20 years in the college sports information field, including 16 years at Northwest Missouri State. He also served as sports director at television stations in Idaho and Montana.

Current NFCA Director of Public Relations and editor of Fastpitch DeliveryDavid Shulimson has been named Director of Media Relations effective January 18. A search is underway to fill the position of editor ofFastpitch Delivery.
