UCLA catcher Stacey Nuveman is the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division I Player of the Week for the week of April 29-May 5.
Nuveman, a senior from LaVerne, Calif., became the NCAA all-time career home run leader when she hit her 86th career homer Saturday against Oregon State. Nuveman, who extended her record Sunday with her 87th career home run, broke the record she shared with Leah Bratz (1994-95, 97-98) and Laura Espinoza (1992-95), both of Arizona. For the week, Nuveman hit .571 (4-for-7) with a double, two home runs and five walks. Nuveman, who was also last week's Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division I Player of the Week, becomes the third two-time winner this season and the first to win the award in consecutive weeks.
