Texas pitcher Cat _ Osterman and Fresno State pitcher Jamie Southern are the Louisville Slugger/NFCA _ Division I Co-Players of the Week for the week of April 8-14.
Osterman, a freshman _ from Houston, Texas, posted a complete-game 10-inning win in the Longhorns' _ 2-1 victory over No. 11 Oklahoma, striking out 19 batters, allowing two _ hits and one unearned run. Osterman also recorded 13 strikeouts in a one-hit _ shutout over No. 23 Baylor. Her 32 strikeouts last week give her 390 for _ the season, breaking the Longhorn record of 364 set by two-time Olympian _ Christa Williams.
Southern, a freshman _ from Clovis, Calif., pitched 20 scoreless innings to extend her scoreless _ streak to 44.2 consecutive scoreless innings.She pitched her second perfect _ game (and third no-hitter) of the season in the Bulldogs' 1-0 victory _ over San Jose State. For the week, Southern was 3-0 with one save, 24 _ strikeouts and a 0.00 earned run average.
Both Osterman and _ Southern become two-time Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division I Player of _ the Week winners.
