Columbia, MO -- Arizona State third baseman Phelan Wright is the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division I Player of the Week for the week of April 30-May 6.

Wright was a main contributor in each of Arizona State's three wins against Stanford and California this past weekend. Against Stanford, she was 2-for-4 with a double to help propel ASU to a 4-3 win. The next day against Cal, Wright was 2-for-3 with a home run, a run scored and two RBI in ASU's 3-2, nine-inning victory. In the second game against Cal, ASU was down 1-0 when Wright hit a sacrifice fly that drove in the tying run and boosted the Sun Devils to a 5-1 win. Overall, Wright was 4-for-8 (.500) with a double, a home run, a run scored, three RBI and three walks. In the field, she was perfect with 12 successful chances.

In 18 games against Pac-10 competition this year, Wright is batting .456 and boasts a team-leading .408 overall average with 60 hits and a .517 slugging percentage. She was named Pac-10 Player of the Week on Monday.
