St. Cloud State pitcher Nicole Webb has been named the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II National Player of the Week for the week of April 21-27.

Webb, a junior from Tigard, Ore., posted a 5-0 record last week that included wins over third-ranked North Dakota State and No. 25 Augustana in North Central region play. She also picked up a save against South Dakota State.

Webb had six strikeouts in an 11-inning 3-2 win over NDSU. She struck out seven against South Dakota State, allowing just four hits in a key 2-1 win for the Huskies.

Webb tossed a complete game shutout against Northern Colorado and followed it up with an 8-0 shutout of Augustana. She only allowed one hit against the 25th-ranked Vikings and threw another one-hit shutout against South Dakota.

On the week, she scattered 21 hits over 37 2/3 innings pitched. She posted a 0.19 ERA and retired 25 batters on strikes. She also had five hits and a pair of RBIs at the plate.

For the season, Webb improved to 23-6. She has 111 strikeouts and has compiled a 1.31 ERA to lead the Huskies.
