Barry first baseman Kim Fujimoto has been named the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II National Player of the Week for the week of March 3-9.
Fujimoto, a freshman from Carmichael, Calif., went 12-for-19 (.632) with four runs scored and four RBI in six games last week. She had two doubles and a triple for the Buccaneers, who at 22-5 are ranked No. 1 in the latest NFCA Division II Top 25. Against South Dakota, Fujimoto went 3-for-3 with two RBI's. She had another perfect day at the plate in Barry's 8-2 win over Lake Superior, going 3-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored. On the season, Fujimoto leads Barry, hitting a .432 clip. The freshman has 35 hits including three home runs. She has only struck out twice in 90 plate appearances.
