UC Davis pitcher Susan Churchwell is the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II Player of the Week for the week of March 11-17.
Churchwell, a junior from Lake Forest, Calif., tossed a pair of complete game shutouts and hit .375 to help lead the Aggies to a 4-0 mark last week. She tossed a six-hitter against Cal State San Bernardino, then followed with a three-hitter against No. 4 UC San Diego. At one point in the UC San Diego contest, Churchwell retired 13 consecutive batters. At the plate, she drove in two of the Aggies' three runs in that game and also had a two-RBI performance against San Bernardino. UC Davis is ranked No. 10 in the most recent USA Today/NFCA Division II Top 25.
