North Dakota State pitcher Julie Fromm is the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II Player of the Week for the week of March 12-18.
Fromm, a junior from Kelso, Wash., posted a 5-0 record with one save and a 0.00 earned run average in six appearances. She tossed four shutouts as she recorded 30 strikeouts and only two walks in 35.1 innings pitched. She struck out 12 batters in a three-hit shutout against Southwest Baptist and pitched a one-hitter against St. Edward's. Fromm also contributed at the plate, hitting .391 (9-for-23)with one home run, five runs batted in and four runs scored in 11 games. For the season, Fromm is 8-1 (through March 18) with one save, four shutouts and a 0.45 ERA. She has 54 strikeouts and seven walks in 62.2 innings. She is also hitting .333 with one home run and six RBI. North Dakota State, ranked No. 2 in the NFCA Division II Top 25 Poll, posted a 12-0 mark last week to improve to 20-2 overall (through March 18).
