Four regions saw teams place four individuals on the first team as the NFCA announced its 2007 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III All-Region teams Monday.

No. 2 Ithaca and No. 3 Linfield both placed four individuals on the first team in the Northeast and West regions, respectively. Nicole Cade, a first team pitcher a year ago, was a first team utility selection this year. Her partner in the Bomber pitching rotation, Carly Myers, was a first team pitcher selection along with battery mate Hannah Shalett. Third baseman Stacy Pelesz was the other first teamer for Ithaca.

Linfield outfielder Stephanie Rice, a first team at-large selection last year, was selected a first team outfielder along with catcher Jena Loop, second baseman Jenny Marshall and at-large shortstop Meredith Brunette.

In the Midwest region, No. 7-ranked Luther placed four athletes on the first team as well, led by shortstop Lisa Huinker, a second team selection a year ago. The Norse infield was also represented on the first team by third baseman Ashley Hoffman and catcher Tami Magner. Outfielder Erin Michael was the fourth Luther first teamer.

DePauw led the Central region with four first team selections, including catcher Rachel Gill, outfielder Chelsy Patterson, designated player Laura Schlensker, and at-large pitcher Megan Soultz. All four helped lead the Tigers to their first-ever NCAA tournament selection.

Montclair State was the lone team in the East region to garner three selections on the first team, led by pitcher Carolyn McCrea. Third baseman Jackie Ferranti and shortstop Jennifer Jimenez are also a large part of why the Red Hawks are making their first NCAA tournament appearance since 1999, hosting the East regional.

Salisbury and Emory led the Atlantic region in first team selections with three each, while Illinois Wesleyan and Aurora accomplished the same feat in the Great Lakes region.

The New England region saw the most diversity amongst teams with first team selections; Wheaton, Tufts, Clark and Trinity all placed two athletes on the first team.
