National champion Thomas University (Ga.) had six players earn first team All-East Region honors as the NFCA announced the Louisville Slugger/NFCA NAIA All-Region teams on Friday.
The Night Hawk contingent was led by designated player Tania Black, who led Thomas with a .566 batting average. She was second on the team with 11 home runs and 57 RBIs.
Second baseman Yuruby Alicart was also a first team selection. Alicart hit .529, leading the team with 109 hits (48 of which were for extra bases) and 14 home runs.
Thomas pitcher Cathy Andrijaszyn was tabbed first team All-Region after leading the Night Hawks with a 27-2 record and a 0.89 ERA. Third baseman Gillian Loughead, outfielder Jennifer Byrd and infielder Stephanie Dixon (at-large) also earned first team honors.
Olivet Nazarene had four players named to the first team in the Great Lakes Region. Columbia (Mo.) had three players on the first-team Midwest squad, as did perennial power Oklahoma City in the Southwest.
National runner-up Simon Fraser and California Baptist each had four first-team honorees in the West Region.
