Louisville Slugger/NFCA NJCAA Division II All-Region Teams
Phoenix College’s four all- region selections led all schools on the 2006 Louisville Slugger/NFCA NJCAA Division II All-Region teams as announced by the association Friday.
Phoenix infielder Natalie Heeley was named first team all-West region along with teammates Casey Wheeler, Lindsay Kelso and Roxanne Bejarano.
Johnson County had three players named to the West region squad, as infielder Tracey Anderson joined battery-mates Jill Peters and Kateyn Jeanin.
Iowa Lakes led the Midwest region selections with a trio of players named to the squad. Pitcher Samantha Rohr was named to the squad alongside catcher Britt Boyer. Jenifer McDowell joined the duo receiving Midwest region accolades.
The remainder of the team was filled with players from Lincoln Land, Parkland, Muscatine, Kankakee and Kirkwood, as each team placed a pair of players on the region listing.
No single team dominated the East region selections. Four teams, Ocean, Catonsville, Lansing and NE Mercyhurst, each landed a pair of players on the all-region squad. Ocean put Brittany Jones on the team along with pitcher Danielle Olsen, while Catonsville added Michele Davis and Danielle Ziegler. Lansing’s Ashley Malloy and Danielle Buche joined Mercyhurst’s Natalie Dematteis and Rachel Pacholke on the squad.
