Anne Arundel Community College (Md.) placed five players on All-America teams, including three first team selections, as released by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association on Tuesday.

Leading the way were a pair of freshmen, catcher Danielle Martinez and shortstop Amber Stapler. Martinez, who was also awarded Diamond Sports Catcher of the Year honors, hit 56 RBIs and posted a .613 batting average on the season. Stapler’s .441 average and 30 runs scored also added to the Pioneers’ offensive production during 2005.

Also representing Anne Arundel on the first team was freshman outfielder Amy Bush, while infielder Ashley Kimble and designated player Cortnie Huggins were awarded second team honors.
