Luther sophomore Kelsey Weindruch has been named the NFCA Division III National Player of the Week for games played May 2-8, the Association has announced. Weindruch helped the Norse capture its second consecutive Iowa Conference title and secure the No. 1 seed in the NCAA regional at Eau Claire, Wisc. The championship game win was Luther's 21st in a row and increased its overall record to 37-4.

The outfielder was eight-for-11 (.727) in three Luther wins last week, including two wins over then-No. 7 Coe for the IIAC title. Leading off for the Norse, she scored six runs on eight hits with two home runs and three RBIs. In the championship game versus Coe, Weindruch wnet two-for-four in the eight-inning 6-5 win. 

The Bettendord, Iowa, native is batting .439 on the season and has only 5 K's in 139 at-bats. Weindruch leads the IIAC with 15 doubles and is second in batting average, runs scored, and hits.
