Michigan was named the NFCA Leadoff Classic champion on Sunday, finishing a perfect 5-0 weekend with a win over No. 16 Louisiana-Lafayette. Tennessee also finished the tournament with a 5-0 record, but lost the tournament title to the Wolverines on a run-differential tiebreaker.

The Wolverine pitching staff was a big factor in Michigan’s 5-0 record over the weekend as they allowed only three runs during the tournament. Michigan right-hander Jordan Taylor was named the Most Valuable Pitcher for the tournament thanks to the freshman’s 0.95 earned run average and 3-0 record. 

The Most Valuable Hitter was given to Louisiana Lafayette’s Holly Tankersley. Tankersley hit .412 with 8 RBIs, and a tournament high three homeruns. The entire All-Tournament Team includes:
