St. Thomas shortstop Morgan Betker has been named the NFCA Division III Player of the Week for the week ending March 16, the association announced Wednesday. 

Betker, a junior from Bettendorf, Iowa, led the No. 4-ranked 8-0 Tommies to a perfect week at the Sun West tournament in Orange, California, including wins over three nationally-ranked teams. 

Against NAIA No. 3 Point Loma, Betker laced a two-out, two-run single to cap a six-run fifth inning to tie the score at 6-6, and then came back witha game-winning walk-off RBI single in the eighth. 

Against then-No. 24 Central, Betker had two doubles and a home run in the run-rule victory. 

On the week, Betker batted .538 in 13 at-bats, scoring four runs and driving in another four. She also had two doubles and a home run.
