2007 Louisville Slugger/NFCA NWAACC All-America Team
Mt. Hood had three players named all-American to lead all schools on the 2007 Louisville Slugger/NFCA NWAACC All-America Team, the association announced Friday.
Mt. Hood placed battery-mates on the squad, as Rachel Davis earned one of the two pitcher’s spots and Holly Rossman captured catcher accolades. Infielder Kathryn Cox garnered one of the infield spots.
Walla Walla placed a pair of players on the squad, with infielder Sarah Rivera capturing the honor along with utility player Kristin Wilson, who captured Diamond Sports Catcher of the Year honors after tallying a .993 fielding percentage and throwing out five runners.
Lower Columbia put two players on the teams, as infielder Jessi Hanna joined outfielder Brittany Warren. Wenatchee Valley landed outfielder Tarn Potter on the squad along with infielder Laurel Wyatt.
Pitcher Renee Santos of Clackamas, outfielder Dani Monson of Everett and designated player Jievielyn Howard of Pierce also earned all-America accolades. Monson claimed the adidas Golden Shoe Award for base-running after swiping 54 of 55 bases on the year.
Everett co-head coaches Mandi Johnson and Randy Smith were named the NFCA NWAACC Coaching Staff of the Year.
