Aimee Murch threw a two-hit shutout as Lynn remained in the winner’s bracket with a 3-0 victory over Bloomsburg at the NCAA Division II national tournament in Salem, Va.

Like their opening round win, the Fighting Knights used the long ball to put the pressure on the Huskies. Murch was spotted all three runs in the fifth inning when Jennie Scott delivered a crushing shot, only her third of the season, to center field to score Danielle Fanucchi and Danielle Curcio.

Murch gave up a hit in the opening inning, then retired nine straight batters before a fourth inning walk. No Husky runner reached second base, and Murch (37-7) faced just two batters over the minimum.

Amanda Smith (18-4) took the loss for Bloomsburg, which will now play an elimination game against Kennesaw State on Saturday at Noon. Lynn (52-7) will face the winner of tonight’s Northern Kentucky-St. Mary’s game on Sunday.
