Indiana University president Myles Brand has been named NCAA president-elect, it was announced by the NCAA. Brand will begin his duties on January 1, 2003. He succeeds eight-year president Cedric Dempsey, who announced his retirement in January. Brand becomes the Association's fourth chief executive officer.
