LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The NFCA is pleased to announce New Balance Athletics has agreed to renew as an official sponsor. The global athletic leader has signed an enhanced multi-year contract and will continue to be the title sponsor of the NFCA’s Golden Shoe Award.
Additionally, New Balance is the new title sponsor of the NFCA’s Travel Ball newsletter, On the Run, and will have a heightened presence at NFCA Coaches Clinics. New Balance will provide a team store for all clinic attendees, which will offer discounts on various products. On the Run has all the latest education, expertise, perspective and content tailored specifically for the travel ball coach.
"The NFCA is pleased to continue our partnership with New Balance,” said NFCA Executive Director Carol Bruggeman. “In the last few years, the amount of softball players wearing New Balance cleats and uniforms has exploded throughout the country. Their growth in the softball space has been unprecedented. Comfort and style are important to softball players during competition and there is no doubt New Balance is an industry expert in these areas. Chris Kallao (National Sales Manager) works tirelessly to understand and make a positive impact on the fastpitch community. We appreciate New Balance's support of the softball community and the NFCA."
The New Balance/NFCA Golden Shoe Award is presented to one student-athlete in each division that exudes speed and embodies the New Balance pursuit of excellence. This baserunning award is selected by the All-America committees of elected head coaches in each of the 10 represented divisions. Recipients are honored at the conclusion of their season and recognized at the NFCA Convention.
“New Balance is proud to sponsor the NFCA and partner with them in the joint pursuit of educating coaches and players, while continuing to promote the great sport of fastpitch so that thousands of young women cannot only improve their fastpitch skills within the sport, but also learn invaluable life lessons that they can apply to their professional and personal lives long after their playing days have come to an end,” said Kallao.
