View the 2004 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II All-Region Teams
Top-ranked Kennesaw State and No. 2 Shippensburg each placed five players on first team Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-Region teams, which were announced Thursday by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
Two pitchers, Lisa Macki and Janet Kearns, represented Kennesaw on the first team All-South Atlantic regional squad. The duo was joined by Armstrong Atlantic hurler Katya Eronina, who leads the nation in strikeouts.
Catcher Cambria McKay, first baseman Keri McKee and outfielder Amy Middleton also represented the Owls on the squad.
Shippensburg's contingent was led by Kelley Tiesi, who leads the nation with a 0.21 ERA. Tiesi was joined by four of her Raider teammates on the first team All-Mid-Atlantic regional squad, catcher Sarah Costa, second baseman Bethany Rudal, outfielder Jamie Dacey and designated player Brenna Eck. California (Pa.) joined Shippensburg with five players on the Mid-Atlantic's first squad.
Caldwell, the top seed in the Northeast region, also had five players named first team All-Region. North Dakota State led the North Central region with three first team selections while Alabama-Huntsville led the South with three first team selections.
Northern Kentucky placed four on the first team All-Great Lakes region, led by pitcher Krystal Lewallen. Humboldt State had four placers named to the first team All-West region squad while St. Mary's led the South Central with three first team selections.
