NFCASTARKVILLE, Miss. - The NFCA has announced the 2011 Louisville Slugger/NFCA NCAA Division II All-Region teams. This year’s teams are comprised of 206 student-athletes from 107 institutions spread out over the eight NFCA regions, with a first and second team for each region. 

Second-ranked North Georgia led the way with seven selections this season by placing five players on the first team and two on the second team. Following closely behind the Saints was No. 17 Emporia State, which had a total of six all-region selections. The Hornets placed four student-athletes on the first team and two on the second team. 

NFCA member coaches in each of the eight regions select the Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-Region teams and all honorees are now eligible to be selected to one of three All-American teams. 

The 2011 Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-American teams will be announced at the 2011 NCAA Banquet of Champions in the Community Ballroom of the Salem Civic Center in Salem, Va. on Wednesday night, May 25. The entire list of 2011 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II All-Americans, and its accompanying release, will be placed on NFCA.org later that evening.
