LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The National Fastpitch Coaches Association is pleased to announce that it has acquired seven National Softball Coaches Clinics, which have provided softball coaches access to the highest quality of instruction for the past 30 years. With this purchase from National Sports Clinics (NSC), it is an opportunity for the NFCA to continue providing premier education to coaches and build on what are already considered the best softball coaches clinics in the country.
"Providing relevant, cutting-edge fastpitch education is one of the NFCA's main pillars,” said NFCA Executive Director Carol Bruggeman. “The NFCA is thrilled to provide eight coaches clinics nationwide to help our coaches on their quest for excellence. National Sports Clinics (NSC) has done a phenomenal job over the years of creating successful coaches clinics. A big reason why our game has grown is because there are passionate coaches across the country who want to share information, learn, and grow.”
Fastpitch education is one of the NFCA’s highest priorities. With the addition of seven clinics, the Association is expanding on its already successful clinic and NFCC Coaches College platforms. These clinics will be a tremendous educational opportunity for coaches of all levels to learn from the best in the game. Over two days, participants will gain knowledge from world-class speakers and be able to mingle with exhibitors, who will be showcasing some of the newest innovations in the softball world.
“When I decided to step away from running the clinics, it was my hope that they would end up in the hands of an organization or business that understood and appreciated the history and that would be able to carry Mary’s (Nutter) vision forward for years to come,” said Traci Mayberry, NSC Clinic Director. “With Carol’s leadership, and the fantastic NFCA staff, I am confident that the clinics will not only accomplish those things, they will evolve and grow, and continue to provide softball coaches the best educational opportunities possible.”
Nutter (NFCA HOF ‘97) founded National Sports Clinics in 1987 and, alongside Traci Mayberry, put together a program that would feature some of the most knowledgeable, successful and passionate instructors in the world who are dedicated to helping clinic participants become better coaches and enjoy the game.
“This is a natural fit and aligns perfectly with the NFCA’s commitment to excellence in coaching education,” Mayberry said. “It was my privilege to work with Mary for 25 years and an honor to, with the help of many others, carry on for the past five years in her absence. I am deeply grateful for everyone who has been a part of this journey for the past 30 years.”
For 30 years, the primary focus of their clinics has been to provide the highest quality instruction in an organized, relaxed and fun environment, while offering a variety of topics and encouraging participants to interact with the instructors throughout the two-day clinics.
“NFCA Hall of Fame member Mary Nutter and Traci Mayberry of NSC worked tirelessly to ensure fastpitch educational information was available to anyone,” said Bruggeman. “They created the best coaches clinics in the country. The NFCA is honored to continue their legacy by providing high quality coaches clinic experiences to all attendees and exhibitors. These clinics will continue to be "must-attend" annual events."
The NFCA will take over the clinic reigns immediately. With the dates already solidified, the first order of business is to secure the previously-mentioned world-class speakers for the upcoming 2017-18 schedule. Once the speaker lineup is solidified, the NFCA will announce it on NFCA.org. Below are the dates of the clinics as well as a link to register.
