LOUISVILLE, Ky. — For the second straight season, NCAA Division II's Adelphi University registered a 3.785 grade-point average to pace all colleges, while Olathe North (Kan.) and Byron Nelson (Texas) led the high school unweighted and weighted categories in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Top 10 Academic Team rankings for the 2014-15 school year. It marked the second straight recognition for Byron Nelson as the top in its respective category.
The rankings recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across seven membership divisions.
Lipscomb University (3.645) led NCAA Division I, while Emerson College (3.742), for the fourth straight season, was the Division III leader, William Woods (3.694) set the NAIA standard and College of Southern Idaho (3.622) was No. 1 among junior colleges. Olathe North posted a 3.896 GPA, while Byron Nelson had a 4.827 GPA.
