STARKVILLE, Miss. – Junior Jamie Daniels of Pike County High School in Zebulon, Ga., has been named the MaxPreps High School Player of the Week by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association for games played through September 17, 2011.
Daniels went 3-0 on the mound last week, including tossing 4 perfect innings in a big win over Green County (Ga.). She completed the week with a 0.00 ERA striking out 23 while walking only 3 in 18 innings pitched. On the season the junior owns a .99 ERA and has only allowed 4 extra base hits in 92 innings. Daniels has also helped her cause at the plate, as she owns a .387 batting average. Her efforts have helped the Pirates extend their record to 12-6 overall and 7-0 in conference.

To nominate a player for the award, the coach must enter his or her athlete's game stats into MaxPreps.com by Sunday evening to be eligible for that week’s award. The NFCA High School Players of the Week, one for each high school region, will be announced by the Association on www.nfca.org every Monday during the spring season.
