Round Rock, Texas – June 23, 2013 – In a rematch that saw back-to-back home runs from MC Elite Gold and a solo-shot by the Oklahoma Athletics – Childers in the same inning, the 16U gold bracket champion was decided by just one run.

After a valiant comeback in the bottom of the seventh by MC Elite Gold, the Oklahoma Athletics (pictured right) got the final out, sealing the 7-6 victory and earning the trophy as the NFCA Round Rock Top Recruit Tournament 16U Gold Champions.

 The Athletics defeated the TX Bombers STX 8-7, Saturday night to advance to the Sunday championship game. MC Elite Gold took down the Oklahoma Twisters 16U, 2-1, to reach the championship.

This was the second matchup of MC Elite Gold and the Oklahoma Athletics – Childers as the two teams faced off in pool AA before bracket play began. In that contest MC Elite Gold got the better of the Oklahoma Athletics – Childers also by a score of 7-6.

In the 18U gold bracket, the Dallas Tigers 18U Gold – Hernandez (pictured, orange) defeated the Oklahoma Athletics 18U in a close matchup, 6-5, to earn the gold bracket championship honors.

The Tigers defeated the LA Maniax, 2-1, Saturday night to reach the championship game, while the Athletics defeated South Texas Kaos 8-0 to advance and face the Tigers.
