Oklahoma Baptist used a six run fourth inning to pull away from upset-minded Columbia and win the 2003 NFCA NAIA Leadoff Classic at Shuford Fields in laGrange, Ga.

The Lady Bison were led by the tournament's most outstanding player, second baseman Kayla Hubbard, who went 2-for-3 in OBU's 9-1, five-inning victory in the final.

In the Gold Championship consolation, Houston Baptist defeated the bracket's No. 1 seed, Spring Hill 10-1, also in five innings.

Georgia Southwestern played well in their home state, claiming the Silver Championship bracket with a 6-2 win over Athens State. The Hurricanes were led by Gretchen Mosley. The senior infielder was named the bracket's most outstanding player, batting .600 in bracket play.

St. Gregory's claimed third place honors in the Silver Bracket, defeating William Woods 5-0 in the consolation final.

St. Xavier won the Bronze Bracket in dramatic fashion. The Cougars' Tara Hollar, the bracket's most outstanding player, hit a two run home run in the eighth to lead SXU to a 3-1 victory over Lindenwood.

Faulkner defeated Southern Wesleyan 5-0 in the bronze consolation final.
