LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A pair of impressive performances that included a perfect game during a weekend series sweep of then-No. 17 Arizona have helped Oregon’s Jessica Moore earn the selection as the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division I National Player of the Week for April 16.

"It's (winning Louisville Slugger/NFCA National Player of the Week) a really big honor, and I'm super-excited," Moore said. "It was a huge weekend for the team, and all three pitchers on our staff are doing great. We've worked hard to get to this point, and are excited to raise our level higher."

The Sutter, Calif., native was 2-0 from the circle with a 1.27 ERA, the perfect game (her third career no-hitter) and 10 strikeouts over 11 innings of effort, while allowing just nine total hits and a .214 batting average against.  The senior right-hander christened her weekend by permitting just a pair of earned tallies over six frames as UO fought off the ‘Cats, 5-3. Her finest effort came on Sunday in the series finale, however, as Moore struck out six and faced the minimum of 15 batters while tossing a five-inning perfect game to complete the Ducks’ first-ever three-game sweep of Arizona. To this point in 2013, she paces the Oregon pitching staff with a 19-3 overall record to go along with a 1.41 ERA and 117 strikeouts over 129.1 frames of effort.

"Our program is very honored that Jess was selected for the award," Oregon head coach Mike White said. "She has worked hard for four years on and off the field to raise her game to this level. Our catchers and defense also played a big part in last week's and this season's success and should be commended too."

Next up for UO is a mid-week doubleheader at Portland State (April 16) before returning to Pac-12 Conference action at No. 18 UCLA over April 26-28.
