LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Junior pitcher/second baseman Caitlin Perry (Alabama Christian Academy, Montgomery, Ala.), junior pitcher/first baseman Andrea Kindrick (Russellville H.S., Russellville, Ark.) and senior pitcher Johanna Grauer (Amador Valley H.S., Pleasanton, Calif.) have been selected as the MaxPreps/NFCA National High School Players of the Week for games played over March 10-16.
Perry led the 18-2 Eagles to an unbeaten week, going 5-0 from the circle with a flawless 0.00 ERA, four solo shutouts and 41 strikeouts over 26 innings. She fired a no-hitter during a 5-0 victory over Auburn (Ala.) and followed that up immediately in her squad’s very next contest by twirling a perfect game with 12 strikeouts in a 2-0 blanking of Wetumpka (Ala.). Overall, Perry is 12-2 on the season with a 0.35 ERA and 118 K’s over 79.1 frames of effort.
South Central Region
Kindrick helped the Cyclones to three victories last week, posting a .667 batting average (6-for-9) with two HR’s and four RBIs while also going 3-0 from the circle with a 0.33 ERA and 45 strikeouts over just 21 innings. She struck out 17 and was 2-for-2 at the dish during a 2-0 triumph over North Little Rock (Ark.), K’ed 15 while going 3-for-5 with a HR and three RBIs in a 11-3 win over Conway (Ark.) and punched out 13 more during a 2-1 victory over Atkins (Ark.). For the year Kindrick is 4-0 with a 0.25 ERA and 58 K’s over 28 frames and is batting .583 with five RBIs.
Grauer helped the Dons christen the season in perfect style by registering a 5-0 pitching mark with a pair of shutouts and 59 strikeouts over 35.1 innings of work, while also hitting at a .438 clip with a triple and five RBIs. She struck out at least 10 during each of her five starts with a high of 16 occurring in a season-opening no-hitter as Amador Valley rolled past Deer Valley (Calif.), 6-0. For the week Grauer allowed the opposition to hit at just a miniscule .078 clip.

The MaxPreps/NFCA High School Players of the Week will be announced on NFCA.org every Monday during the spring season, with one representative chosen from each of five separate high school regions (if there are enough nominations to consider). During the fall campaign, just a single player will be selected representing all participating regions.
