LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The 2013 NJCAA Division I & II national champions, Wallace State Community College-Hanceville and LSU-Eunice, lead a strong 24-team field for the 2014 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Junior College Leadoff Classic to be held over February 28-March 2, 2014, at the South Commons Complex in Columbus, Ga.
This year’s participants include 15 NJCAA Division I teams and nine squads from NJCAA Division II. In all nine members of the field participated in their division’s respective 2013 national championship tournament.

In addition to the two-time national titlists from Wallace State-Hanceville (2008, 2013) and LSU-Eunice (2011, 2013), NJCAA Division II is also represented by the 2009 and 2010 national champions from Heartland Community College and Muskegon Community College, respectively. Georgia Perimeter College, Lake Land College, Odessa College, CCBC-Catonsville and Kirkwood Community College join Heartland and Muskegon as 2013 NJCAA District Champs slated to participate in this year’s event.
Rounding out this year’s field are: Blinn College, Central Alabama Community College, Des Moines Area Community College, Florence-Darlington Technical College, Gordon College, Indian Hills Community College, Labette Community College, Midland College, Northwest Florida State College, Pasco-Hernando Community College, San Jacinto College, Seminole State College, Southern Union State Community College, Spartanburg Methodist College and Tallahassee Community College.
This year’s classic will be divided into pool and bracket play, with each team guaranteed a minimum of five games. Each team will begin the tournament by playing each of the other three schools in their pool. Once pool play is completed, the teams will be divided into three brackets (Gold, Silver & Bronze) of eight teams each.
Single day tickets will be $10 for adults, $7 for children 12 & under and $5 for youth/military groups of 10 or more. Full tournament passes should also be available for $25 for adults and $15 for children 12 & under.
